On our return trip from Hilton Head, I convinced Jarrod (without much trouble) that we needed to check out the much advertised exit at the border of North and South Carolina.
Here are some pictures of our sillyness from our adventure...

Denise made Jarrod some great cakes - even (with the help of Me-Me) a homemade ice-cream cake! Delicious! Needless to say, we all enjoy Denise's cake-making talents... and our waistlines are feeling the effects! :) I am enjoying sharing in Jarrod's birthday - as I've come to realize that I benefit from his presents (well.. like the games and such..) but really, I am so glad that he has had some special birthday celebrations!
Jarrod had a couple really great tennis matches and got to play golf for the first time with his left-handed clubs with the other guys. Dad, Jarrod is looking forward to that tennis re-match!
Jarrod enjoyed having many playmates to be active and jump in the waves...
They had a great time building that sand castle!
In the mist of the busyness of my last semester and being full time in the hospital - and Jarrod working hard at the post office on these hot hot days - it was just what we needed! Unfortunately, I still had to do school work while we were on this trip - and I am definitely looking forward to the freedom (of homework) that comes with graduation. Still, our time at Hilton Head was a fantastic get-away, and it will be hard to get back into the swing of things in Charlottesville... we are loving this summertime fun!
Today is Jarrod's 25th Birthday (and our 6 month anniversary)! We have been celebrating all weekend, as we were both off of work and traveled to Harrisonburg to relax and enjoy time with Jarrod's side of the family. It has been such a sweet time of refreshment from work, building relationships, and enjoying good company. Here are some pictures from our birthday celebration last night:
