First.. the invitations.. inspiration from this blog.
Next: Decorations... which Marc was thrilled about. Daddy drew Mickey on a large poster board - which he loved! (click on the photos to enlarge!)
The boys all have younger siblings that Emmalyn enjoyed entertaining. :)
Activities: After perusing many websites and blogs about what games to play, we thought about what Marc would actually participate in and decided on one organized game.. we called it "Mickey's Dance Party" game.
The kids watched and danced along with a song on one of the Mickey shows - and then the ever popular "Hot Dog dance"... but then we would pause the music and they would all run to stand on a card that was taped to the ground. We would then choose one of the cards and whoever was standing on the card "won" -- and got "hi-fives" from all the other kids. We played 4 times so that all of the boys had a chance to win. After the game we had lunch... of course, hot dogs! and mickey chicken nuggets to go along with other finger foods. The kids were pleased
We also had story time. It was nice to have the kids settle down for a bit and let us get ready for the cake. Daddy did a great job getting all the kids involved in the story!
Marc was pumped to have a "Toodles Cake". This was my first attempt at making any sort of special designed cake - and while it could use some serious work - my 3 year old thought it was amazing... so that for days afterwards when people would ask about his birthday party he would say "I had a toodles cake!
We had a great time celebrating Marc's 3rd birthday with wonderful friends!
Happy Birthday, Marc!
